A breakdown on how you can register with Door and immediately receive your first reward.
Anyone who registers and opts-in to licensing their data to advertisers gets an immediate reward in DOOR. This is how we show we are serious about consumers benefitting from providing their data. After all, we would be hypocrites if we asked people to register, give us their data and give them nothing in return. Right?
Why we reward Consumers for Registering
In order to make real change on how consumers and businesses connect, we knew we had to have a big incentive for consumers to join. This is why we reward every verified user with Door Tokens.
The way it works is simple. A user registers on the app and adds one (or more) properties they live in or own. We then issue DOOR Tokens based on the market value of their properties. The reason we have this calculation is because it ties the value of the data to the value of the property. This is highly correlated to the value of the data, especially when advertisers who are in the home services market are concerned.
So for example, if your property is valued at $300,000, then you can expect to earn for registering around 280 DOOR Tokens. The reward will reduce over time as more and more people register (so the earlier you are, the bigger the reward).
What happens after you Register?
After a consumer registers, they let the advertisers know what products and services they need in the next few months. So for example, if a consumer needs a real estate agent to help sell their home, they would check a box next to “Looking for Real Estate Agent”.
Once checked, real estate agents in their area will receive a notification and they will have an option to license the consumers data. If they choose to purchase the lead, the consumer will receive more DOOR Tokens for licensing their data.
So, in this example, if there are 3 real estate agents who receive the notification and they all purchase the data - the consumer receives 3x the DOOR.
Chicken and Egg
Of course, DOOR is new. So it will take some time to onboard new advertisers and new consumers. In order to make connections there needs to be critical mass on both sides. As we roll out region to region we hope to get more adoption each day, which will provide sufficient benefits for both the consumers and the advertisers.
Our focus will initially be around home services and products. For example, real estate broker, home renovation, home repair, insurance and other related services.
Nothing to Lose
The good news, is there is nothing to lose. Consumers are rewarded just for registering, and Advertisers only pay for data they license. As the network grows we fully expect the number of connections to increase, and consumers will receive more and more rewards from advertisers looking to connect.
