Welcome to the year of Crypto. Everything has been bubbling up for the past few years, waiting on the tech to advance and culture lag to catch up. Here is why we want to be the oasis in the desert.

Watching the crypto ecosystem evolve is not too different than the early days of the Internet. It was exciting, messy, confusing and nobody knew what or how it was going to change the world 🌎. But it did.

The Internet and personal computing brought us into the Information Age, and I believe cryptocurrency and blockchain (more specifically) are going to transition us into the Age of Decentralization. It goes beyond ones and zeros. It will change the way we think about the fundamentals of our society.

Removing the Middleman ❌

The current driving force of blockchain is the desire to remove the middleman. Not because it reduces cost (it actually adds cost) - but because it reduces their power to control or monitor what we do. This is the spirit of decentralization. But it is so much more than privacy, security and transactions. It threatens to replace everything. Not just how money flows, but how everything flows.

The Dark Side ⚠️

Unfortunately, anytime we see innovation there is corruption, fraud and abuse. We saw it with the Internet (hackers, Nigerian Princes, phishing emails). We are seeing it with crypto in droves. This not only makes it difficult to drive adoption, it puts a tremendous amount of risk on those driving the innovation. When you are early, you are going to face the fire.

Building a Safe Place

This is why we are so focused on building a trusted platform to launch new applications on the blockchain and instill confidence in the community. The user experience of crypto is complex, and our goal is to make it easier, more fluid and provide more utility.

Utility is Key 🔑

The vision of DOOR 🚪 and our new project NIL are very similar. We want to build a business powered by crypto that offers true utility to the market. Not only do we want to make it easier, we want to be the preferred platform for anyone looking to embrace the future to see us as an oasis in the desert.

Long Road Ahead 🚧

It’s not what anyone wants to hear (especially if they want to cash-out their crypto and buy an island after 30 days) - but it is a long road ahead. It takes years to build a business. It takes years to build a strong community. It takes years for adoption by the masses.

So all we can do is focus on what’s ahead of us this year. Continue to execute the plan. Continue to make the tough decisions when things don’t fall in to place as hoped. Continue to work on being one of pioneers in this new, exciting, dark, crazy, fast-moving metaverse we call crypto.
