Why would I sell my Data?
This is the question I am always asked by people interested in learning more about Door. Why would someone willingly give their data to an advertiser or business?
Well, guess what - you are doing it already.
Every form you fill out, every click you make, every website you visit - are all getting data from you - for free. And unfortunately, there is nothing anyone can do about it unless consumers wake up and say “Hey, wait a minute. Stop using my data!”.
But I am not sure that’s a solution either - because consumers do want to connect with businesses (if and when) they need a service. So there needs to be a better solution to “all or none” mentality.
The solution in my mind (and why DOOR exists) is simple. Give the power to the consumer and reward them in exchange for allowing advertisers to access their data.

The only way to eliminate the ad portals and websites that take your data and sell it over and over to anyone and everyone willing to pay - is to come to an agreement directly with the advertiser directly.
It’s a very simple pact.
Consumer agrees to provide accurate information on what products and services they are looking to purchase.
Business (advertiser) pays consumer for access to this information and provides information related to products and services they offer that match the consumer’s need.
To me it’s common sense. The reason a consumer would sell their data is because 1) They need a service or product 2) They are rewarded financially and 3) They are not giving away their data for free to ad portals and websites.
The Perfect Lead
We all understand that advertising, marketing and sales is what makes the world go around, yet many of us “despise” when we see ads over and over, or when we get an email selling us something we don’t need. Whether we like it or not, this will always be the way of the world. The economy won’t stop, and we won’t stop surfing the Internet.
So since complaining about it is a waste of time for everyone, we need to find a better solution. DOOR provides a common-sense approach to building a win-win for both consumers and businesses.

When was the last time a business paid you for your contact information?
I am guessing never. At first it sounds crazy right? But if you think about it - it makes way more sense than a business paying someone else for your data.
Much like how Bitcoin is removing the need for a Bank, DOOR is removing the need for the middleman. And here’s the best part - there is more than one business looking to sell you products and services.
Every time you need a plumber, you earn DOOR.
Every time you need an electrician, you earn DOOR.
Every time you need a real estate agent, you earn DOOR.
Every time you need a new car, you earn DOOR.
Every time you need a new roof, you earn DOOR.
And since these businesses paid to contact you - you better believe they will be responsive. How many times did you call a home services business and leave a message or fill out a form and never get called back?
Creating a real connection between consumers and businesses will result in a better experience for everyone.
