Door Coin is officially launching on July 4th. Over 30 contributors have worked tirelessly to build our platform. We are excited to share it with everyone.

The story of DOOR is simple. We just asked ourselves “What if we lived in a world that trillion dollar companies didn’t sell OUR data to businesses and keep all the money?”

It certainly would feel utopian.

Of course, it seems almost inconceivable how a small group of people could take on giants like Facebook, Google, Zillow, HomeAdvisor. How on earth could you compete? They have billions of dollars. They have destroyed more formidable opponents before. You don’t have a chance in hell.

That’s when it hit us. We don’t have to “compete”. We just need to change the game. Instead of the middleman making billions - lets enable the people make the billions.

If the product is free, you are the product.

Let’s face it. The Internet has become one giant lead generation funnel. It has morphed into a “click machine” that puts whatever we want to read, see or watch in front of us - just to drive more clicks. They are consuming OUR data every second of every day and then selling it to the highest bidder. Meanwhile, we are giving them everything we possibly can about our lives - to make them more money… and you get nothing.

DOOR fixes this.

I know it seems ambitious and naive to say “We are taking on Big Tech!!!” and think we can go to war and win. But we realized - we don’t have to fight them. We just need to go around them. We need to connect consumers with businesses directly. No more banner ads, clicks, filling our forms, etc. We just need to incentivize consumers to join our platform, opt-in to services they need and want - and then let businesses pay those consumers for the right to view their information and contact them directly.

Let me repeat that. Consumers get paid for their data. Businesses pay consumers to earn their business.

Let me say it one more time. You make money. Not Google. Not Facebook. Not Zillow. Not HomeAdvisor. You.

Your Data. Your Money.

How is this Possible?

It is possible because of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. Without the platform that empowers decentralization - there would be no DOOR. We built an exchange that seamlessly allows businesses to pay consumers directly for their data using our DOOR Coin. Our cryptocurrency is the currency of our platform. And when/if a consumer wants to turn DOOR Coin into a U.S. Dollar - the can through any exchange.

When a homeowner clicks “I need a plumber” - multiple plumbers see the opportunity and each one buys the data (lead) and responds. It’s a win-win. The consumer makes money, and the plumbers have the potential to make money (if they get the job).

And guess what. Google gets nothing. Facebook gets nothing. HomeAdvisor gets nothing.

Now they get to feel how we have felt since 1996.
